Because the Sixties, x-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), either wavelength and energy-dispersive have served because the workhorse for non-destructive and harmful analyses of archaeological fabrics. lately eclipsed by way of different instrumentation akin to LA-ICP-MS, XRF is still the mainstay of non-destructive chemical analyses in archaeology, quite for volcanic rocks, and so much really for obsidian.

However, lowmolecular-weight substances with sulfamino groups showed no activation, which suggests that the polymeric nature as well as the presence of N-sulfatyl groups are necessary for activation. The experiments of Patten and Hollenberg (17) using NHhOHNH&l extracts prepared from acetone powders of fat cells suggested that heparin stimulation of lipoprotein lipase is due to increased binding of the enzyme to chylomicrons. Heparin had no effect on the stability of the enzyme or on its activity once the complex was formed.

A further indication of this was the fact that heparin decreased the rate of heat inactivation of the enzyme. However, Iverius et al. found that both the purified lipoprotein lipase and the crude preparation of the enzyme contained small amounts of endogenous heparin-like material, further indicating that heparin may be part of, or bound to, the protein. Although the precise role of heparin in lipoprotein lipase metabolism is not known, the above experiments indicate the following effects of this polyanion.
